Well that was disappointing. Kinda reinforces the “all show, no go” tuner stereotype instead of disproving it.
Also, 13 seconds a lap slower around a track (and an 11.6 second quarter) in a tuned GT-R isn’t very quick.

“Show car shootout”
These are literally built to show not go.

But isn’t the point of putting a bunch of performance parts on a car to make it... perform?

There were performance parts added to those cars? I guess I was blinded by all the ridiculous cosmetic mods.

This particular breed of show car simply aestheticizes performance mods. A lot of performance mods are made to the car, but they are for the purpose of appearance. I’m sure plenty of actual performance mods were omitted from this build because they lent nothing to the car’s appearance. The result is a sort of caricature of a fast, modified car that does not necessarily perform well. This was the initial goal.

I just laugh because the point of the shootout was to prove that they’re more than just show cars, and most weren’t.

Ok, I didn't watch the vid but that's plain stupid.
